SATOSHI HAGA
Dancer, Choreographer, Visual Artist, Instructor


Satoshi Haga grew up in Fukushima, Japan where he never thought he would ever become interested in dance. He has started his career as a performing artist since the 1980s in New York.

As a choreographer and a dancer, his works have been presented by venues including Aaron Davis Hall, Dia Art Foundation, The Madarts, Joyce SoHo, P.S. 122, Movement Research, 92nd Street Y, Mulberry Street Theater, DanceNow [NYC], Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Japan Society in New York and Jacob’s Pillow, The Yard in MA.

He performed Off-Broadway production of Charles Ludlum’s “The Artificial Jungle” in 2017. He also does collaborate work with Jen Shyu (composer & Vocalist), performing at many venues including The Met Breuer/The Metropolitan Museum of Art with Vijay Iver, The Rubin Museum, Roulette, Jazz gallery and other music venues. As well as choreographing and directing Opel and Land Rover at The Tokyo Motor Show.

Satoshi is also a visual artist and occasionally incorporates his work into binbinFactory's dance performance. The first solo show of his drawings and sculptures was held at the Soapbox Gallery, Brooklyn in 2012. Recently he participated in Group Show “Le Festival de Bargemon” South France in 2019.

ニューヨークを活動拠点としているコレオグラファー、ダンサー、アーティスト

福島県出身。ニューヨーク・パントマイム・シアター、アメリカン・マイム・シアターにて、モニ・ヤニム、ポール・J・カーティスに師事。
マギー・ブラックよりクラシック・バレエのテクニックを学ぶ。

1997年からソロ公演を、翌年にはギャラリーやレストランのウィンドウの中、限られた空間の中でマイムを披露するビンビン（BINBIN）プロジェクトをスタート。

マイムとダンスを融合させたパフォーマンスで好評を得る。
ジャパンソサエティー、アーロン・デイビス・ホール、ジェイコブ・ピロー・ダンス・フェスティバル、パフォーマンス・スペース122、ジョイス・ソーホー、マルベリー・シアター、ザ・ヤード等に於いて公演。マーサズ・ヴィニヤード島のベッシー・ショーンバーグ・アーティスト・イン・レジデンス。
東京モーターショウ等イベントの演出・振り付家としても活躍。
２０１３年にはハーレムステージ（NY）の３０周年記念公演E-Moves 14に招聘される。

またビジュアルアーティストとしても活動中。2012年、ソープボックスギャラリーにおいて自身のドローイングと彫刻作品の個展を開催。2019年には、フランスのバージェモンで開催されたアートフェスティバルに作品を展示。

身体トレーニングとして楊式太極拳、陳式太極拳に取り組んでいる。
